Dr. David P. Smith
B.S., M.S,. D.D.S.
Dr. David P. Smith has over 22 years of experience teaching in dental hygiene programs. He is the Program Director at Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek, Michigan. Recently, he was an adjunct faculty member at Delta College (Bay City, Michigan) and Mott Community College (Flint, Michigan). He previously was the Dental Hygiene Program Director at Baker College of Clinton Township, Michigan. He has a Bachelor Degree in Biology (Adrian College) and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Michigan. He earned a Master Degree in Health Services Administration from Central Michigan University.
Dr. Smith has practiced general dentistry, and has been an instructor in many courses, including Nutrition, Histology and Embryology, Head and Neck Anatomy, Pathology, Periodontics, Radiography, Pharmacology and Local Anesthesia. He is an honorary member of Sigma Phi Alpha National Dental Hygiene Honor Society, and has served as a Council Member on the St. Clair City Council.
He has given continuing education seminars across the United States for DHS, Inc., as well as for the St. Clair District Dental Hygienists’ Society, the Detroit Periodontal Study Club, and the Sarnia, Canada Dental Hygienists’ Society. He has also presented “Local Anesthesia and Nitrous Oxide Sedation” to the Michigan Dental Hygienists’ Association, the East Shore Dental Hygiene Association and the Oakland County Dental Hygiene Society.
