Mary Danusis Cooper, R.D.H MSEd

Mary has been an instructor in the Dental Hygiene Program at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne since 1979. She remained in private practice until 1987 at which time she accepted a full-time position in the program. She still remains active in clinical practice as a volunteer at Matthew 25 Health/Dental Clinic--a clinic for the indigent in Fort Wayne. As a tenured Professor, her responsibilities include teaching Nutrition, Oral Anatomy/Histology, Clinic I, and Preclinical. 

 

  As a tenured Full Professor, her responsibilities include teaching Preventive Dentistry, Nutrition, Oral Anatomy/Histology, Clinic Seminar, Preclinical and Senior Hygiene Seminar. Mary’s experience in clinical practice and as an instructor provided her the expertise to design a root planing instrument marketed by Nordent Manufacturing, Inc.  
 

Mary has published several articles on topics applicable to practicing dental hygienists and book reviews in professional literature. In addition, she has written a book, nutrition CD-ROM, book chapters and edited textbooks.
